Go bicycling or hiking in our beautiful parks and countryside. Enjoy boating and fishing (Mascoma Lake is just down the hill and Crystal Lake is nearby). Take a short drive to visit either Lake Sunapee, Lake Winnipesaukee or the Cog Railway at Mt. Washington. You can participate in local foot or bicycle races; secure bicycle storage is available.

"Nancy ( the owner) was wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were all occupied, which led to interesting conversation at breakfast, which was wonderful! Fresh fruit and yogurt to start, followed by scones made that morning by Nancy and a hot egg dish. The location is great. Close to Dartmouth College and Hanover, ( we wished we had discovered this when our son was a student there!) as well as lakes, and charming VT and NH towns. Our room was nicely decorated with hand crafted Shaker furniture and supplied with all the amenities you would need to have a comfortable stay. My husband and I both highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast to any who enjoy warm hospitality, good breakfasts and pleasant company, not to mention Willy, their wonderful dog!"

General Information: We invite you to be our guests in our comfortable, recently updated 1790's colonial style home at Shaker Hill Bed and Breakfast. Originally home to a Revolutionary War colonel and his family of seven children, the house has been modified over the years. Most notable was the addition of a wonderful wraparound porch where you can relax and unwind from your day's travel. The house sits on 24 acres which abound with wildlife.

We are committed to assuring your stay will be relaxing and memorable. All guest rooms are newly renovated - each one is distinctive.

• Each includes a private bath - all are new and have hair dryers. All have showers

"This was one of the nicest bed and breakfast establishments we have ever visited. The house is well maintained and has four double rooms, all with private bath, and all beautifully decorated in colonial style with lovely furniture, fabrics, and wallpapers. All kinds of nice touches were provided, such as toiletries, a hair dryer, magazines, chocolates on the bureau, area maps, and a cozy guest lounge. The breakfasts were outstanding with fresh home-baked scones, fruit platters, and a hot entree every morning. A great place to stay and relax - have only the most positive comments to make about it."
