Gliding for some twelve sun drenched miles between the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Sarasota Bay, the Keys provides an ideal beach and bayfront setting for the ultimate in a Florida vacation. Home to 9,000 permanent residents, the area attracts many Northerners who can appreciate the average year round 73 degree temperature.

White sandy beaches edge the eleven-mile length of Longboat Key, with breathtaking views of the azure waters of the Gulf of Mexico. World famous for their soft, clean sands, the beaches in the Sarasota area are a highlight of any vacation here. Perfect for long strolls, frolicking in the water or just relaxing with a good book, Longboat's beaches offer something for everyone.
There are no large public access areas on the Key, keeping the beach quiet and pristine, with a "private" feel to it. And because the Key isn't very wide, you're never more than a short walking distance from your accommodations to the Gulf front. Residents and tourists alike are known to congregate each evening to celebrate the spectacular sunsets that glow over the beach.
