Activities/Attractions: Overlooking a traditional fishing harbour with stunning views across Walker Bay to Hermanus and the Cape Point just 2 hours from Cape Town, Saxon Lodge is a perfect location for relaxation and exploring the Overberg region. Some of the main attractions in the Gansbaai area, include:

• This is undoubtedly one of the best areas for Whale Watching from our stunning De Kelder's cliffs - or a boat cruise around Dyer Island (marine bird sanctuary) and geyser Rock (Cape fur seal colony), when you can have a really "up close and personal" encounter with these magnificent creatures in their own environment
  
• Gansbaai is the International Mecca for Cage Diving with Great White Sharks and we specialise in arranging shark diving experience for individuals and groups
  
• We have the only fresh water caves along the Southern African coastline
  
• Marine nature reserves and wetlands with amazing bird species (11 of South Africa's endemic bird species can be found in this area)
