Activities/Attractions: The original capital of Upper Canada (now Ontario), this historic town boasts a serene waterfront setting, old world charm, tender fruit orchards, award-winning wineries, exclusive boutiques, the Shaw Festival Theatre, fine dining, country inns and bed and breakfasts.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a popular tourist destination, one that should not be missed during a visit to Niagara. Take a stroll along the Niagara River Recreational Trail, which offers visitors beautiful views of the Niagara River and the coast of New York State across the narrow waterway.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a major tender fruit growing area in Canada and produces such delicacies as peaches, pears, plums and cherries. Stop by one of the many roadside stands which line the country routes around Niagara-on-the-Lake to buy some fruit or pick your own at one of the local farms.

A short fifteen-minute walk from our B&B will take you to the town centre where many of the shops, restaurants (Angel Inn), Shaw theatres and Hotels (Prince of Wales) are located. Two complimentary bikes are always available. For your convenience, we can arrange reservations at any of the restaurants, golf courses, wine tours and theatres.

"Their welcome to their home could not have been warmer and our first experience of B&B (anywhere in the world), could not, we feel, have been surpassed. The Garden Retreat room, leading out into a pleasant sitting area in the garden is extra special. Over the delicious breakfasts, we took C&D's advice about trips - to the falls and for wine tasting - and feel we really got the most out of our short, 3 night, stay. "We stayed at this wonderful bed and breakfast for three nights. We had a spacious room with a sitting area and an in room bathroom with a small fridge. Our hosts Christie and Dennis made us feel very welcome in their home and were extremely knowledgable about things to do and see in the Niagara area. After hearing what we like to do they recommended things they felt we would enjoy. It was a toss up what was the best part of our stay, the beautiful backyard where we could relax with a glass of wine or the FANTASTIC breakfasts every morning. Christie even cooked according to our likes and dislikes of food. If I ever go back to the Niagara area I would absolutely stay here again. They made our trip something special compared to staying in a hotel where you are just a number. They even arranged for our travel agent, my sister, to have wine and fruit waiting in our room for us. It was a wonderful touch for our anniversary."

Located in a quiet area of 'Old Town' Niagara-on-the-Lake, we are within a five-minute walk of some of the most spectacular sunsets at the shores of Lake Ontario. The Toronto skyline can be seen from this waterfront vantage point.

Garden Retreat - Main floor gem with wrought iron queen sleigh bed overlooking the back garden oasis. A patio door provides access to the sun sheltered deck and garden. An armoire cleverly hides the satellite TV while two cushioned wicker chairs add to your comfort.
Garden Vista - Located on the second floor, this romantic room boasts a four piece private bath, which is larger than the others and allows you the added luxury of both a soak in a tub with fragrant salts and a shower.
Queen Sofia - Located on the second floor, this warm and inviting room allows you the benefit of two amazing views; the great room and the garden oasis. This two-room suite has a queen sleigh bed in dark wood to match the antique dresser and sofa couch, which can convert to a double bed.

Payment Accepted: Payment in full is due on arrival either by cash, traveller's cheques or credit card if more convenient.

"I have just returned from my fourth visit to Niagara on the Lake, and my fourth stay at Oak Haven, with Christine & Dennis Rizzuto. They welcome you into their beautiful home and you immediately become one of the family. The kitchen is open for you to help yourself to tea and coffee, there is often a glass (or two) of wine, and plenty of good conversation. They are a mine of information on the area, and their dinner recommendations are excellent. Christine's breakfasts are legendary and leave you completely "suffonsified" as she would say! (Lunch is unnecessary) Nothing is ever too much trouble - They certainly are "The greatest hosts in Canada."
