Activities/Attractions: Walking around the almost perfectly preserved city of Bruges (Brugge) is like taking a step back in time ... from its 13th century origins as a cloth manufacturing town to its current incarnation as a tourism mecca, Bruges seems to have changed little.

Bruges incredibly well-preserved medieval architecture makes it one of the most exciting tourist attractions in Europe. Besides architecture, sites to see include several museums:

• The Groeninge Museum, with six centuries of paintings from different styles, including works by Jan van Eyck
  
• The Memling Museum with the wooden Shrine of St. Ursula
  
• Also, the only work of art by Michelangelo to leave Italy during his lifetime, can be seen in the Church of our Lady
  

• The Chapel of the Holy Blood also displays an ampoule reputed to contain the blood of Christ
  

Of course a visit to Bruges wouldn’t be complete without a canal or carriage ride, sampling the chocolates and waffles, shopping for craft work including Bruges famous lace, visiting art galleries, climbing the belfry or trying several of the more than 350 available Belgian beers.

Perhaps the most astonishing thing about Bruges is the consistently warm welcome its residents provide to the swarms of visitors. The basis for this is more than mere economics, those who live in Bruges love their city and can well appreciate that others want to experience it.

General Information: Welcome to Casa Luna Bed and Breakfast ... ideally situated close to the ramparts of Bruges, Belgium in a very nice area for walking. We are located in a quiet area in the centre of Bruges, a few minutes’ walk from all historical sites. A rich breakfast is provided in the cozy living space, or in the courtyard, if the weather is nice.

The house, built in 1850, was totally renovated in 2005 and has all the modern comforts. You are just a short walk away from the historical city centre, the new concert building and the train station.  I’ll be happy to answer all your questions about Bruges and its activities.

"Luna Nathan operates her B&B with much devotion, love for the detail and personal bonding with her guests! The house is furnished in very good taste and one feels immediately at home. Breakfast is taken in the dining room or on the terrace in good weather in the inner court. I can't deny that our fantastic Brügge vacation lay also in large part to our Casa Luna stay!"
